Visit to Wells

wells_cathedralAs mentioned at the last meeting, we are planning a visit in the summer to the fascinating and historic city of Wells . Besides the cathedral, dating from the 12th century, Wells boasts a Bishop’s Palace (site of the famous wells themselves), a historic market place and Vicar’s Close, described as ‘the oldest complete medieval street in Europe’.

Vicars-hall-680x510The chosen date is Friday 13th June with a pick-up at the Lighthouse at 9.25 am and return around 5.15 pm. The price is £16.50 and you can pay at the next meeting or contact the Society to book your place. The number of seats reserved is limited but there may be extra seats available via Highcliffe Coach Company (Telephone  01425 271111 or contact via the website at: www.highcliffecoachholidays.co.uk )
